The Purpose of Traumatic Brain Injury Case Management Services

February 28, 2022 by Cardinal LifeCare Consulting

Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can range greatly in terms of severity and symptoms; but even TBIs that are considered mild – such as concussions – can have serious, long-lasting effects. To lay out and execute a comprehensive plan enabling a TBI survivor to get the support they need to achieve the best possible quality of life, traumatic brain injury case management is often a necessity.

At Cardinal LifeCare, our licensed legal nurse consultants create nursing care plans tailored to specific patients, based on their unique condition and needs. Drawing on relevant experience and research, our professionals also provide objective, evidence-based life care plans to support attorneys working on cases involving TBIs and other catastrophic injuries. To learn more about our services and where they may be applicable in a particular case, read on or reach out to us at 724-487-0519.

The Purpose of Traumatic Brain Injury Case Management Services

When a patient faces a traumatic brain injury, they may need 24/7 monitoring, hospitalization and a range of treatments to aid in their physical and emotional recovery from TBI. Ultimately, the type and level of care required will vary from patient to patient, which is why a personalized care strategy is key.

After interviewing a patient to assess their unique condition, symptoms, struggles and needs, a legal nurse consultant from Cardinal LifeCare will be equipped to deliver a detailed, individualized nursing care plan. Speaking generally, a nursing care plan for a patient who has sustained a TBI may include:

  • Pain management medications/therapies;
  • Speech therapy;
  • Occupational therapy;
  • Memory training;
  • Counseling;
  • Home modifications;
  • Surgical intervention; and
  • Ongoing rehabilitative care.

For patients alleging that another party’s negligence contributed to the accident causing their TBI, a life care plan may also be requested to justify the recommended interventions and assign a monetary value to each.

The Consultants at Cardinal LifeCare Are Impartial, Accountable and Reliable

To provide dependable, evidence-backed traumatic brain injury case management services – with or without life care planning – Cardinal LifeCare Consulting relies on a robust network of qualified legal nursing professionals. If you are working on a case involving a TBI survivor, get in touch with us today at 724-487-0519 to find out how we may be able to assist you in strengthening the case and better serving the individual you are representing.
